Job Location: King County. Multiple locations potentially including Redmond, Bellevue, Mercer Island, Kirkland, and/or Issaquah.

Job Type: Part-Time

Compensation: $50-$100 per school club, depending on experience. We are hiring assistant coaches and lead coaches.

Schedule: 

Clubs start between 3:00pm and 4:00pm and run for 1 hour. Coaches are expected to set up and assist with checkout/cleanup. Therefore, Coaches must arrive 15 minutes before the club starts to help with setup and stay 15 minutes after to help with cleanup/check-out. Coaches will be expected to work 1 hour and 30 minutes per club. Our new coach can expect to work 1 to 5 clubs per week.

Excel with Chess is a locally owned business providing the King County community with after school chess classes, camps, online classes, private coaching, and tournaments. We have been instructing the chess community since 2009. Our mission is to create a fun and safe environment for our students to learn chess.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Set-up for lessons including tables, chairs, chess-sets, and teaching materials.
• Take daily attendance.
• Instruct beginner chess students on piece movement and introductory tactics.
• Work closely with parents, kids, and other chess coaches.
• Occasional marketing events and/or tournament support duties.

Requirements:

• Reliable transportation
• Permitted to legally work in the United States. 
• 1 year prior work/volunteer experience.
• Minimum age requirement of 16+
• Availability between 3:00pm and 5:00pm 

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working with children.
• Prior coaching experience.
• Chess knowledge.
